In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, school will be closed Monday, January 19.  School will also be closed on Thursday, January 22 and Friday, January 23 for teacher workdays.

Pre-K-1st Grade: 8:15-9:00 am
2nd-3rd Grade: 9:10-9:55 am
4th-5th Grade: 10:00-10:45 am


 
Lunch Buddies Program
Thursday, January 8 marked the beginning of Washington Park's new Lunch Buddies Program.  Community leaders, including Washington Park Family, spent time with special students.  Thank you to our volunteers who serve as mentors to our students!


 
Canned Food Drive
Washington Park's Canned Food Drive was a success!

We collected 1,648 canned goods.  Congratulations to Ms. Sparks' Homeroom for collecting the most cans! Congratulations to Ms. Ganzy for being the faculty member to donate the most cans!


Spelling Bee
Congratulations to Frank Ladd, winner, and Currey Marcano, runner up of the Washington Park School Spelling Bee!  They will be attending the Scotland County District Spelling Bee on Tuesday, December 16 at 10:00 am.

Congratulations WP Students and Staff!
Monday, December 8, 2014 was an exciting night at the board of education meeting for Washington Park Students and Staff.

Students Lance Adkins, Kaziah Wilkerson and Rheema Al'Gazali  were recognized for their artwork being selected for the Superintendent's Christmas Card. They all received their artwork framed.
 
Stacey Bowman (representing the 1st grade team) and Laura Bowen (5th grade ELA teacher) were recognized for the grants that they are involved in to obtain books for our library.
 
Retha Hasty and Ronette Mauldin were recognized by the district for being "key players".  Their above and beyond efforts around the school were recognized and they received plaques.

Great job WP Panthers!

 
Math Night
Thanks to all students, parents, and staff for supporting
Math Night hosted by UNCP.  It was a great success!
